Virtual Kerava Old Road
Kerava’s journey from a backwater town into a cultural and industrial centre began at the turn of the 20th century. Virtual Kerava Old Road takes you back to this turning point in 3D!
Nowadays the Kerava Old Road only covers about one town block, but at the beginning of 1900’s it was a lively and developing area. It has housed everything from an amusement park to a carpenter mill.
Virtual Kerava Old Road is a 3D model based on photographs of the old. These present their own challenges: some have been only shot from one side, others have undergone massive changes. More information on the project coming soon!
Virtual Kerava Old Road has been created in collaboration with the City of Kerava. The experience was first on display in an exhibition by Art and Museum Centre Sinkka.
Sinkka is being renovated and will open in 2026.
